News: 3 days agoKonecny (undisclosed) returned to practice Wednesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Spin: Konecny missed a team scrimmage Sunday because he was "a little banged up," but he was never expected to be sidelined for long. Look for the 26-year-old, who racked up 31 goals and 61 points through 60 games last campaign, to continue to be a fixture in Philadelphia's top six this year.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Konecny was just about the lone bright spot for a dreadful Flyers team in 2022-23. He scored a career-high 31 goals and averaged better than a point-per-game (61 points in 60 games) for the first time. The bad news is he missed 22 games with a pair of upper-body ailments. Konecny's 16.2 shooting percentage was high, making him a prime regression candidate in the goals-scored department in 2023-24, but he's also a lock for a ton of playing time, particularly with the man advantage, on what may be the league's least-talented team. Keep Konecny's injury history in mind on draft day, but there should be enough offensive production here to make Konecny a rock-solid fantasy option this year.
