News: 1 hour agoHart is expected to start at home against San Jose in Saturday's preseason game, per Steve Carp of The Sporting Tribune.
Spin: Hart was strong in his first preseason start, stopping 28 of 29 shots in regulation in a 2-1 shootout victory over the Sharks on Tuesday. The 28-year-old helped Vegas reach the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals, posting a 14-8 record with a 2.56 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 22 postseason outings.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Hart joined the Golden Knights in early December and appeared in a dozen games before a lower-body injury cost him the better part of the next three months. All told, Hart went 11-3-3 with a 2.71 GAA and .891 save percentage in 18 regular season games before starting all 22 games for Vegas in the playoffs (14-8, 2.56 GAA, .907 save percentage). Hart's usage late last season suggests he's in line to open the 2026-27 campaign as the starter for the Golden Knights, but keep in mind the team is bringing in a new coaching staff, so nothing is guaranteed. If he does indeed secure the gig, Hart should win a ton of games, even if his ratios are middling.
