ESPN Fantasy Projection: It's rare to say that any 23-year-old, particularly a defenseman, is on a Hall of Fame trajectory, but that's how good Makar has been in his first three NHL seasons. Makar's standout 2021-22 campaign saw him lead all NHL rearguards in goals (28) and finish second in points (86), while winning his first Norris Trophy as the league's top defenseman (and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP). It's nearly impossible to imagine Makar could be any better, but this is a guy who has racked up all those accolades in addition to a Stanley Cup victory despite the fact he's just 178 regular-season games under his belt. Makar is unquestionably the best defenseman in the NHL, so get ready to draft him early this fall.
