The 25-year-old netminder stopped eight of nine shots in his lone preseason outing of 2026-27, where he played the full game and helped the Flames pick up a 3-1 win over Vancouver. Wolf is looking to bounce back in 2026-27 after regressing slightly in the win column across 57 regular-season outings a season ago.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Playing for a Calgary team that finished with the fourth-fewest points in the NHL, Wolf had zero chance of repeating his Calder Trophy-finalist numbers from a season prior. His 55 starts tied for seventh most in the league, but all Wolf could do with the enhanced playing time was manage 23 wins along with a 3.01 GAA and .899 save percentage. The Flames project to be just as weak this coming season, if not worse. This is a classic case of a team simply being too poor to support their No. 1 netminder from a fantasy standpoint. Wolf has youth on his side as he won't turn 26 years of age until next April, but unless Calgary makes unforeseen strides as a team, Wolf is ticketed for another season as a No. 2 fantasy goalkeeper.
