News: 6 days agoStone signed a two-year, $18 million contract extension with Vegas on Saturday.

Spin: Before his new extension kicks in, Stone will play the final season of his eight-year, $76 million contract in 2026-27. He generated 28 goals, 73 points and 130 shots on net over 60 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. Stone will likely continue to occupy a top-six role while seeing time on the power play and penalty kill in the upcoming campaign.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Stone remains one of the best and most productive players in the NHL when healthy, which has been the case for seemingly ever. He appeared in 60 games for the Golden Knights last season, racking up 28 goals and 73 points, including a career-high 27 with the man advantage. The issue is that it's impossible to predict how much the 34-year-old will play on a year-by-year basis. Since his first full season in Sin City in 2019-20, Stone has played in no more than 66 games in any single campaign. All Vegas cares about is winning playoff games, so expect them to handle Stone with kid gloves during the regular season. Keep this in mind on draft day.
