Bentley leads Sun to 75-70 win in Dream home opener
ATLANTA -- Alex Bentley scored 17 points and the Connecticut Sun spoiled the Atlanta Dream's home opener with a 75-70 victory Sunday.
The Sun (1-1) trailed at the half, 42-37, but outscored the Dream 17-11 in the third quarter to take control.
Chelsea Gray added 14 points for Connecticut. Jasmine Thomas had 13, and Kelsey Bone 11.
Sancho Lyttle had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead Atlanta (1-1). Tiffany Hayes added 12 points, Angel McCoughtry had 10, and Erika de Souza finished with eight points and 11 rebounds.
Atlanta committed 25 turnovers, which led to 31 points for the Sun.
The Sun also outscored the Dream 16-6 off the fast break.
The Sun shot 39.4 percent from the field (28 for 71) and were 7 of 21 from 3-point range. Atlanta shot 36.8 percent (25 of 68) and was 3 of 16 from long range.
