Sun crush Stars to help Anne Donovan become 4th WNBA coach to win 200
UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Kelsey Bone had 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to help the Connecticut Sun beat the San Antonio Stars 82-51 on Tuesday night for coach Anne Donovan's 200th career WNBA victory.
Donovan is the first female coach -- and fourth overall -- to reach the milestone.
Alex Bentley and Alyssa Thomas had 10 points apiece for Connecticut (10-9). Bentley scored a combined nine points in her last three games. Connecticut had a season-high 24 assists, led by Chelsea Gray's career-best seven.
Connecticut outscored San Antonio 18-6 in a decisive third quarter and opened the fourth on a 13-3 run.
Jia Perkins scored 15 for San Antonio (6-15), and Sophia Young-Malcolm added 10. Danielle Adams returned from a three-game suspension but did not play. San Antonio lost by 30-plus for the second time in four days and has not won a game on the road this season.
