Nneka Ogwumike goes perfect from the field and FT line to lift Sparks to win
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Nneka Ogwumike scored 32 points, hitting all 12 of her shots, and the Los Angeles Sparks remained unbeaten with a 97-73 win over the Dallas Wings on Saturday night.
Ogwumike was perfect on seven free throw attempts and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Sparks (9-0), ranked second in the AP WNBA power poll. Los Angeles also started 9-0 in 2001 and 2003.
Skylar Diggins returned to the lineup for Dallas (3-6) and scored 13 points in just her second game as she recovers from an ACL injury suffered last year. Glory Johnson played in her second game after returning from suspension due to the domestic incidence in 2014 with then-partner Brittney Griner of Phoenix. Johnson missed all of last season on pregnancy leave. Johnson had seven points and six rebounds. Odyssey Sims paced Dallas with 18 points and Aerial Powers added 16.
L.A.'s Candace Parker took an elbow to the face in the fourth quarter, left the game and did not return. She finished with just six points, well below her 17.8 average.
