Hill leads balanced Mystics past Dream 95-65
WASHINGTON -- Tayler Hill led a balanced attack with 15 points and the Washington Mystics routed the Atlanta Dream 95-65 on Saturday night for their first home win of the season.
Hill had nine points in the first quarter when the Mystics (6-7) raced to a 26-14 lead. After an even second quarter, Washington outscored the Dream (8-4) 24-14 in the third quarter, when Atlanta coach Michael Cooper was ejected after two technical for protesting a foul, and was never threatened.
Emma Meesseman added 14 points, Bria Hartley had 13 and Ivory Latta and Tianna Hawkins had 12 apiece for the Mystics, who are ninth in the AP power poll. Washington, who lost its first five games at home this season, will play the next four at home. The Mystics made 8 of 16 shots behind the arc and 52 percent overall (35 of 67).
Tiffany Hayes had 12 points for the third-ranked Dream. Atlanta shot 41 percent (23 of 56), including 4 of 18 behind the arc.
