News: 3 days agoMims caught eight of 23 targets for 133 yards in 11 games during the 2021 season.

Spin: Mims was frequently in the doghouse, and his on-field play explained why. His routes were rarely crisp, and when Mims managed to get open, he was plagued by drops. It's a major indictment on his development that Mims barely saw the field down the stretch, even as the Jets were routinely without their top two or three wide receivers due to injuries. The 2020 second-round pick out of Baylor has all the physical attributes to excel in the NFL, but he's far from guaranteed a spot on the roster next season after his subpar performance in 2021.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Mims is entering his second NFL season after appearing in nine games as a rookie. The 2020 second-round pick was heavily used out of the gate with seven-plus targets in four of his first five NFL games but was reduced to a total of 11 targets during his final four outings. Mims was utilized as a vertical threat (15.3 aDOT) but caught only 50% of his 46 targets and didn't find the end zone. Mims has a great combination of size (6-foot-3), speed (4.38 40-yard dash) and quickness (6.66 three cone), but has plenty of competition for work with Corey Davis, Elijah Moore and Keelan Cole added to a WR room that also includes Jamison Crowder. Mims' skill set and talent make him worth a dynasty stash, but that's it.
