ESPN Fantasy Projection: Not liking what he saw on the free agent market in the fall of 2020, Barrie inked a one-year, $3.75 million bridge deal with the Oilers in hopes of securing a larger payday and it worked. Barrie led all NHL defensemen in scoring last season with 48 points in 56 games, which ultimately led to a three-year, $13.5 million deal with Edmonton in July. The fit alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on the Edmonton power play was fantastic, and his 23 points there tied Norris Trophy winner Adam Fox for second in the NHL among defensemen. Barrie is one of the NHL's most offensively productive rearguards, and he should continue to put up elite scoring numbers from the blue line as long as he's seeing time with No. 97 and 29.
