News: 5 days agoUzomah didn't catch his only target in Friday's 24-21 preseason win over Philadelphia.
Spin: Uzomah made a nice leaping attempt in the back of the end zone but failed to corral a high pass from Mike White, which was a bit off the mark. Fellow new addition at tight end Tyler Conklin had three catches for 23 yards, while rookie third-round pick Jeremy Ruckert scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Uzomah signed with the Jets after spending his first seven seasons with the Bengals. His production has been all over the map during his career, as he's often been a backup, but he stepped in nicely with a 43-439-3 receiving line in place of Tyler Eifert in 2018 and was finally handed a Week 1 every-down role in 2021. Uzomah responded with career-best marks in receptions, yards and touchdowns, though he failed to record his first-career top-15 fantasy campaign. The 29-year-old is a solid real-life player, but he primarily works in the short area and will defer work to fellow newcomers Tyler Conklin and Jeremy Ruckert. Uzomah is a low-ceiling, fringe TE2.
