News: 4 days agoHenderson rushed 21 times for 78 yards and a touchdown and brought in two of three targets for 29 yards and another score in the Rams' 38-11 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Spin: The third-year back once again served as the clear lead back while outpacing Sony Michel by 12 carries. Henderson crossed the goal line from two and 23 yards out on the ground and through the air, respectively, on back-to-back drives late in the first half. The 24-year-old's receiving score was his first of the season, and he's now found the end zone as a rusher on four occasions over his first five games. Henderson will look to exploit another favorable matchup when the Rams host the winless Lions in Week 7.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Henderson is entering his third NFL season and, with Cam Akers out for the season, he'll be competing with newcomer Sony Michel for the Rams' lead back gig. It's a big opportunity for Henderson, as the 2019 third-round pick barely saw the field while behind Todd Gurley II as a rookie (184 yards on 43 touches) and then fell behind Akers last season. Akers missed most of Weeks 2-7 and also Week 16 last season. Henderson split backfield duties with Malcolm Brown during those seven games, racking up 96 carries and 16 targets on 210 snaps, compared to 54 carries and 18 targets on 227 snaps for Brown. Henderson was efficient and delivers a trio of top-11 fantasy weeks, but the low passing-game usage limited him to the 20th most fantasy points during the seven weeks (Brown was 42nd). Henderson can leap to the RB2 radar, but he'll first need to beat out Michel for lead back duties. The more-likely outcome is a two-headed committee that places both in the weekly flex discussion.
