News: 9 hours agoHenderson (thigh) didn't play during Sunday's 37-7 win against the Jaguars.

Spin: Afterward, coach Sean McVay noted Henderson was available to the Rams offense, if needed, but game flow ultimately kept him on the sideline. It's no surprise as the game quickly turned into a blowout after halftime with Sony Michel running effectively in Henderson's place. Michel ended the contest with 24 carries for 121 yards and one touchdown and also gathered in three of four targets for eight yards. As the Rams prepare for a key divisional matchup with the Cardinals on Monday Night Football in Week 14, it'll be interesting to see whether Henderson can log more than the one limited session that he managed Friday on his injured thigh.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Henderson is entering his third NFL season and, with Cam Akers out for the season, he'll be competing with newcomer Sony Michel for the Rams' lead back gig. It's a big opportunity for Henderson, as the 2019 third-round pick barely saw the field while behind Todd Gurley II as a rookie (184 yards on 43 touches) and then fell behind Akers last season. Akers missed most of Weeks 2-7 and also Week 16 last season. Henderson split backfield duties with Malcolm Brown during those seven games, racking up 96 carries and 16 targets on 210 snaps, compared to 54 carries and 18 targets on 227 snaps for Brown. Henderson was efficient and delivers a trio of top-11 fantasy weeks, but the low passing-game usage limited him to the 20th most fantasy points during the seven weeks (Brown was 42nd). Henderson can leap to the RB2 radar, but he'll first need to beat out Michel for lead back duties. The more-likely outcome is a two-headed committee that places both in the weekly flex discussion.
