Somebody tell the '72 Dolphins to pop the corks.

Maybe it doesn't merit Dom Pérignon, but it nonetheless requires bubbly.

The dragon has been slain. The Death Star has been destroyed. The Florida Tuskers have been defeated.

After compiling a 6-0 record in the inaugural UFL regular season, the Tuskers were stunned 20-17 in overtime by the Las Vegas Locomotives in the fledgling league's first title game.

J.P. Losman coolly completed 21 of 35 passes for 193 yards, and DeDe Dorsey rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns as the Locos scored 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, evoking the Giants' upset of the unbeaten Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

The announced attendance at Sam Boyd Stadium was 14,801, but it's entirely possible at least 15,000 will one day claim to have attended this historic clash for the ages. To those who said Losman, the maligned former Bills quarterback, would never win a championship, we politely invite you to stick it.

Enjoy the championship, Las Vegas. We know the Strip will be rocking after this one. Perhaps that would've been the case anyway, but we digress.
