Another North century leads Western Australia

Western Australia 3 for 315 (North 145, Bancroft 86, Voges 62*) v Victoria
Scorecard

Marcus North made his 37th first-class hundred to lead a strong Western Australia batting performance against Victoria in Perth. North struck 145 and put on 208 for the opening wicket with Cameron Bancroft , who made 86. Adam Voges compiled another half-century and was unbeaten on 62 as Western Australia ended on 3 for 315.

Victoria, who chose to field, were made to toil for more than 60 overs by North and Bancroft before they could separate the pair. It was Jake Haberfield who ended the partnership when he had Bancroft caught behind. John Rogers missed out on a productive day for batsmen when he was caught-and-bowled by Haberfield for 1.

North and Voges then added 92 for the third wicket and it was only very late in the day that Victoria were able to see the back of the former. It was Haberfield again, having North caught behind for his third wicket. After North's departure, Voges and Shaun Marsh ensured there weren't any more late alarms for Western Australia.

North took 269 balls for his 145 and hit 20 fours and a six. It was his third hundred in four Shield games along with two half-centuries. He is the leading run-getter this season with 589 runs in seven innings at an average of 117.80.

  • Coulter-Nile bowls WA to innings win

Nathan Coulter-Nile bowled Western Australia to an innings win over Victoria at the WACA, their first outright victory of the Sheffield Shield summer, as the Bushrangers fell 38 runs short of making the Warriors bat a second time

  • White century keeps Victoria afloat

Cameron White's unbeaten 110 in Victoria's second innings helped them stay afloat, after Western Australia enforced the follow-on on the third day. Victoria are not out of the woods, however, as they trail WA by 111 runs with five wickets in hand.

  • Shaun Marsh, seamers rattle Victoria

Shaun Marsh hit his eighth first-class century - an unbeaten 127- to take Western Australia to a mammoth 581, before three wickets apiece from the seamers Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Coulter-Nile left Victoria precariously placed at 158 for 7
