While baseball fans patiently waited five months for the 2024 season to start, the Savannah Bananas were there to pick up the slack.

The group started in 2015 with the idea of making baseball entertaining and fast-paced, calling it Banana Ball. This was before MLB introduced the pitch timer in the 2023 season, where baseball games would routinely take more than three hours to complete.

After the Savannah Sand Gnats -- the New York Mets Triple-A affiliate -- left Georgia, founder Jesse Cole stepped in and filled a void.

Though the group started slow, the Bananas' popularity continued to rise, culminating in a record-breaking month of March.

Here are the Bananas' best moments from March.

Sold-out arena

For the first time in the organization's history, the Bananas' hosted their festivities in an MLB ballpark.

The Bananas attracted a sell-out crowd of over 41,000 to Minute Maid Park in Houston on March 9.

Former Houston Astros, such as pitcher and three-time All-Star Roy Oswalt and outfielder Josh Reddick, threw pitches and took an at-bat, respectively.

The crowd was in for a special treat when seven-time Cy Young Award-winner Roger Clemens took the mound during the second inning.

One-minute inning

The Bananas recorded the fastest inning in Banana Ball history -- pitcher Zach Phillips only took a minute to secure the seventh inning.

During that minute, outfielder Reese Alexiades had the first trick play of his Bananas career when he did a cartwheel while snagging a pop fly.

The Bananas take on LSU

Following their sold-out appearance in Houston, the Bananas traveled to LSU to bring the party to Alex Box Stadium.

In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, the Bananas came out with yellow-striped kilts.

Additionally, Tigers gymnastics senior Olivia Dunne gave her thoughts on Banana Ball.

"I have never seen baseball like this in my life," Dunne said. "I've never seen such amazing dance moves either."
