After a trophy-laden decade in Manchester, Guardiola stepped away from City at the end of last season, a campaign which saw City finish second to title-winners Arsenal.

Maresca, who left Chelsea last January, returns to the club that formerly employed him as an assistant under Guardiola.

There have been plenty of comings and goings on the playing front as well for City. Elliot Anderson joined from Nottingham Forest in a record £116 million ($158.2m) move -- only for Morgan Rogers and Chelsea to break that mark by £1m.

After a stellar World Cup campaign in which he led Spain to the title, talismanic midfielder Rodri made his way to the exit door, swapping City for Barcelona.

It's been a summer of change down on the south coast too, with Bournemouth welcoming a new man at the helm.

After Arne Slot was deemed surplus to requirements at Liverpool, the Merseyside club came calling for Iraola after he impressed at Bournemouth.

That left the club looking for a replacement with former Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose getting the nod to replace the Spaniard.

Last season, Bournemouth finished sixth in the Premier League table.
