Connacht have signed second-row Dave Gannon on a short-term deal.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Irish Province in 2005 before moving to Southland in 2009, will provide injury cover for Dave Nolan who will miss the majority of the season with a broken leg. Gannon spent last season with Exeter Chiefs and was in training with Leinster before securing a deal with Connacht.

"I'm excited to be back in Connacht and I'm looking forward to a big season ahead," said Gannon. "It's been good seeing some old faces about, a lot has changed since I left and I've been impressed with the work ethic of the lads."
