England Lions 163 for 8 (Cox 75) beat Pakistan Shaheens 162 for 6 (Sadaqat 53, Currie 3-27) by two wickets

England Lions captain Jordan Cox ensured his team completed a 3-0 series whitewash of their T20 series against Pakistan Shaheens with a two-wicket in Abu Dhabi.

Cox struck 75 from 37 balls after three wickets from Scott Currie had helped to restrict Pakistan Shaheens to 162 for 6.

Cox took immediate control of the chase - four of his first 11 deliveries were clattered over the rope - as he raced to a 21-ball century. The Essex batter took 20 from the fourth over, bowled by Shahzaib Khan, who had claimed the early wicket of Will Smeed to bring Cox to the wicket.

When Saad Masood finally had Cox caught by Hasan Nawaz, the Lions were well on course needing 32 from 29 balls. Dan Mousley hit 28 from 23 balls as the Lions got home with three balls to spare when Mitch Stanley raced through for a single after a mis-field.

Currie had earlier turned the match the Lions way with two wickets in the 13th over on his way to figures of 3 for 27. James Coles continued his good form when he bowled Nawaz in the next over as the Sussex spinner returned 2 for 28.

The five-match 50-over series is to begin in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
