Scorer: @Thilak_Rama | Commentator: Rvel Zahid

Colombo Stars register an emphatic win and move to the fourth spot in the points table. Angelo Mathews called the shots brilliantly and led from the front by setting the platform with his quickfire 73 while Chandimal's onslaught helped Stars put up a competitive 162-run total on the board.

Gladiators started off their chase well in the powerplay but the untimely wicket of Gunathilaka opened the floodgates. Thereon, Hafeez and Kusal Mendis did some rebuilding work and stiched a fifty stand but as the asking rate kept creeping up, wickets started to fall at regular intervals. Afghanistan's adroit pacer Naveen-ul-Haq bowled accurately at the death and nailed his yorkers, change-up deliveries, and hurled sharp bumpers to ruffle the batters.

Seekkuge Prasanna was brilliant with his delicious leg-spin and only conceded 23 runs in his spell. On the other hand, Mohammad Amir showed his bag of tricks tonight, got the ball swinging and bowled an economical spell but Isuru Udana and Noor Ahmad went for plenty for Gladiators in the rain-truncated affair.

Dinesh Chandimal is adjudicated player of the match for his blistering knock

That's it from tonight's coverage of the LPL doubleheader. We look forward to your company tomorrow when Dambulla Giants and Jaffna Kings lock horns. For now, it's goodbye from Rvel Zahid.
