Matthew Short, Unicorns Captain: I think LA bowled really well out there. There was probably too much in it. We could have bowled better ourselves, I think, myself included. We missed out on a couple of runs there towards the end. But credit to LA. It's a quick turnaround. There's a little bit to polish up after the first game. We've got a lot of fresh faces. But again, we move on pretty quickly to Texas tomorrow and go again

A comfortable win in the end and LAKR have kicked off the season with a mood- and morale-boosting victory. They covered all the bases and showcased the depth in their line-up. Brilliant work from Munro to anchor the innings and ensure they didn't make a meal of the chase. Holder was batting on another level, and his 28 off 12 took the wind out of SFU's sails. There was a brief phase when SFU threatened to claw their way back, but a timely charge from Munro and Holder put any thoughts of panic to bed. Couch and Siddle went at nine an over, while the rest were very expensive. It wasn't an easy surface for the bowlers. Earlier, Pretorius slammed a lovely fifty, but LAKR managed to put some sort of a lid on things at the death, and that ultimately made the difference

Siddle to Holder, OUT, Siddle knows the art of picking wickets. Bowls a tickling slower tennis ball bumper just outside off, upper-cuts straight into the hands of the man stationed at short third, Ghulam takes a simple catch. Holder is not happy, wanted to get over the line but he has done his job by a quickfire 28 off 12
