Scorer: M Venkat Raghav | Commentator: Abhimanyu Bose

4.55pm Right, then, that's the game done. Now it's onto the men's teams of Phoenix and Rockets to begin their respective campaigns at Edgbaston. Follow that action here. From here, it's Abhimanyu signing off on behalf of Himanshu, Raghav and everyone else at Cricinfo.

Debutant Samantha Bates is the POTM: "It's pretty surreal. Pretty cool to play here with Trent Rockets and get the win. We thought spin-heavy might be good in Edgbaston. Good to see it pay off. I spoke to our spin coach and he just said you just have to hit the stumps as much as possible. Kimmy (Kim Garth) bowled really well up front. She bowled 10 balls for just three runs. Nice that I got the reward but Kimmy set the tone for us. We had quite a frantic warm-up and we just wanted to stick to that. Credit to the girls. We did our plans and had our meetings and knew they bat deep and to get them out for not many runs was pretty good. The vibe has been really good in the group coming into the game and was good to see them play with that kind of freedom."

Kasinathan : "Rockets NRR a staggering 7.768. WOW" -- Indeed! Good to get that boost early on.

Shadow-Shell: "After the fastest chase in Women's Hundred yesterday, Rockets not only took that mantle but also the fastest chase including Men's Hundred"

4.45pm A proper trouncing this, with Trent Rockets registering the quickest win in the Women's Hundred in terms of balls left in the second innings. Samantha Bates and Kim Garth were the architects of this win as Birmingham Phoenix just couldn't get their bearings with the bat, before Dunkley just rocketed her team to the modest target. Some great catches as well from the Rockets players, and it was a perfect all-round display.

Filer to Luff, FOUR, Luff finishes it off in style and Trent Rockets begin their campaign with a statement win! Short and wide, she waits and hops and cuts it away past backward point. Both Dunkley and Luff have made this surface look like a batting paradise, after Birmingham Phoenix were rolled over for 64

Filer will bowl what should be the last over
