11.15pm After missing out on the 2026 T20 World Cup due to political reasons, Bangladesh could not have hoped for a better way to return to international cricket, winning their first bilateral series, in front of home fans. After two one-sided contests, Bangladesh clinch their second ODI series win over Pakistan through an absolute humdinger. The team celebrates with the trophy. And after a couple of days of celebration, the focus will shift to the T20Is. That's all from us today. On behalf of Abhijato, Ranjith and Chandan, this is Abhimanyu signing off and wishing you all a good night.
10.55pm Almost time for the presentation ceremony. But before that, there were nice visuals of Mehidy and Agha shaking hands and likely making up after the second ODI. And I'm sure Mehidy would be congratulating him too on a fantastic knock.
Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz: "Definitely was an excellent match. Boys played really well but yeah, last over 14 runs, everyone was afraid. I think it was an excellent wicket and if we got 300 it would be better. But we are playing well, especially the way Tamim batted. Litton Das and Shanto and Towhid Hridoy also played really well. [On Taskin] I think Taskin bowled really well. First three overs he took two wickets and then in the end he got two wickets. Throughout the series he and Nahid bowled really well and they have a good partnership. I am really happy."
Nahid Rana: "Feels very good, getting POTS for the first time. PLan was simple that when I come in to bowl, I will try and take wickets. The pitch was good for bowlers and batters. [On getting extra bounce and bowling good lines and lengths] I have been practicing to try and improve my skills."
Tanzid Hasan and Nahid Rana are jointly the Players of the Series.
The POTM is Tanzid Hasan: "This is a very important series for us. When I came to the wicket I tried to assess for the first 10 overs. As the ball got older it was difficult for new batsman so I tried to play as big an innings as possible. This one very special for me. All the supporters, team management also supported me really well. Always backed me. I practice [hitting sixes] in the practice sessions. I am not trying to hit too hard but just time the ball. That's the main thing."
Shaheen Shah Afridi: "Really proud of the team. We gave chances to youngsters and fought till the last ball. Agha always likes to play the spinners and fast bowlers. He has played good innings for a long time. The youngsters came for one-days the first time. Really proud of the way they played and we will support them. [On his knock] I tried. Rishad bowled really well and congrats to Bangladesh, they played really well. There's always improvement. You need more hard work and be fit in all departments but they are youngsters and played good cricket and we'll back them."
10.45pm Oh my, one sensational century ends up trumping another as Tanzid Hasan's 107 ends up on the winning side over Salman Agha's 106. Agha played a brilliant knock and nearly took Pakistan home in what was a sensational solo effort, aided by a few cameos. One of those cameos of course came from Shaheen Shah Afridi, who after Agha's dismissal kept Pakistan right in it, but in the end, Bangladesh hang on to win by 11 runs. Taskin, Mustafizur and Nahid Rana were again brilliant. Rishad's wicket of Shaheen was the only one in the innings off spin. Earlier, of course, Tanzid's century laid down the platform for Bangladesh's 290. Their slowdown may have made it look like they left runs out there, but another brilliant opening spell from their quicks had Pakistan on the back foot early in the chase, and only Agha's determined century turned things around and got them close. But in the end, those early wickets were maybe one too many, with Bangladesh's bowlers seeing it out after Taskin foxed Agha with a slower ball.
Shadow-Shell: "Remember the time 49.5 wouldn't have been overturned? It wasn't that long ago" -- Great use of the review there!
avikrams: "Full Credit to Rishad Hossain, not an easy job to bowl the final over 14, needing to a batter with reputaion of hitting 6ÂŽs"

12 needed off three
Rishad to bowl. Afridi on strike. One wicket left. 14 needed off the final over. Let's go!
"Taskin knows what to bowl in each situation, [and] Mustafiz never panicked," at crucial points in the deciding ODI against Pakistan, Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz says
His 107 in the decider against Pakistan reaffirmed his potential as Bangladesh build towards the 2027 World Cup
Agha scored 106 off 98 balls after walking out at 67 for 4 in Pakistan's 291 chase but in vain
Pakistan's contention is that Bangladesh took the review after the replay of the delivery flashed on the big screen at the ground
Both the ODIs so far have been one-sided affairs, and an even contest to decide the series will work best for the fans... but the weather might have a say again
