RCB miss their chance to go top of the table.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar: I think we were sure of how we wanted to go about the target, we did well, just one or two shots behind. Really good pitch, batting track, was coming nicely on to the bat, just 2-3 shots away. Difficult to analyse just after the game, I need time to analyse it. We have four games more, we're taking it one step at a time.
Alex: "Rather unusual to choose a leg spinner for the final over. It worked but Pant would have been toasted and roasted if it didn't." Indeed, both Rathi and Shahbaz wanted it, I think and well done to him.
Prince Yadav says he got over his misfield pretty quickly and was focussed on the next ball. He says he had a chat with Virat after their previous game and Kohli had told him to stick to his lengths, and he did just that today. Says LSG can't do much about the matches that have gone past, but will try and finish the season well.
Harshit Goyal: "Wow, their first win since April 9 for LSG! "
Kaleem : "At 9/2 many teams would lose heavily. The margin was single digit, that shows the depth of this RCB team"
I'll have the presentation for you shortly.
Srini: "Finally, a match that could have truly gone either way till the last 3 balls." I know! It's been a while.
Hari B: "Marsh played excellent knock! But Pant's cameo really changed the momentum at the halfway stage!!"
LSG captain Rishabh Pant: It was a good game for us, for sure. We have been trying a lot of things, it means a lot for us. We have been trying to put together a perfect game where batting and bowling comes together, we have had some bad luck, but really happy to get a win here. (Decision between Rathi and Shahbaz) It was a tough one, but you have to trust your bowler, Rathi was the right match-up for Shepherd and he got the job done. Our strength this season has been bowling, Prince, Shami bhai, Rathi, Sid ... there have been good things for out bowling unit.
Mitch Marsh is the POTM: It has been a tough season, nice to get on the right side, really good for morale, disappointing season until today ... A few of the Indian boys said before the game the pitch looked better so I tried to maximise the powerplay. I just tried to get as many as I could in the powerplay, get a good start and have an impact on the game, it's an area we haven't got right so far. I think we batted well last two games, 10-15 short in Mumbai ... we were courageous in the way we bowled tonight. Bangalore bat deep, really proud of the young guys in our attack.
Phew. Match. No 50 done and dusted and it was a good one. That's all we've got for you tonight, and thank you for all your emails, do join us for DC vs KKR tomorrow. Cheers!
"The way we bowled, the way we controlled the game... we were two shots behind [in the end]," Rajat Patidar says after RCB went down to LSG
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Virat Kohli had the chance to move up their respective tables, but both returned blobs against LSG
"A lot of bowlers bowl one or two good balls in an over. This guy bowls about four to five. That's his strength," Ambati Rayudu says after Prince Yadav's match-winning show at IPL 2026
Among the tallest openers going around, Marsh has the reach to be access good lengths the way others can't, and that was on show against Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Arshin Kulkarni will open for LSG for the first time this season with Josh Inglis out injured, while Digvesh Rathi and Shahbaz Ahmed also slotted into their side
