Player of the Match

That wraps up all the action from the first match of today's double-header. Thank you for tuning in. Be sure to join us again for the next match, which gets underway in an hour and thirty minutes. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub signing off on behalf of Harshith Gowda and Ranjith P. Goodbye!

Player of the Match, Chris Green: "[Bowling] It was really enjoyable. The conditions obviously suited me, and I was backed up nicely, but I think it was a complete bowling performance by our team - and possibly the complete chase as well. It's really important that I mention Hamza Sajjad. We had a scary moment at training the other day, and we all dedicate this win to him. To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with the way I bowled in the first two games. It was a moment of reflecting in the mirror and telling myself to be better and trust the way I bowl. Fortunately, it worked out today. [Talk us through the catch] I'm glad it stuck! Catching off your own bowling can happen very fast. Being an off-spinner, I'm used to the ball being slogged back at me at a good pace, so I'm just happy it stayed in there."

Nadeem: "@Jawwad: "And he is our ODI captain", spot on!"

Awais: "LQ emotional strategy of spending 7.6 Crore PKR on Haris Rauf will hurt them big going deep into this tournament. They already had Fizz, Shaheen and Ubaid Shah so they should have gone for someone else and try to bring in any experience batter in the middle order like D mitchel."

5:08 pm The one-sided battering concludes with a dominant win for United. The Qalandars' bowlers had no answer for how to defend the low total or make life difficult for the batters. Shaheen provided the early breakthrough they desperately needed, dismissing the man in form, Sameer Minhas, in the third over. However, Conway quickly took charge, finding the boundary repeatedly even as the Qalandars' seamers continued their hunt for wickets. United scored 51 runs in the powerplay, with the top-order batters making the chase look effortless. Conway returned to form in style, finishing unbeaten on 59 runs from 35 balls. His partner, Faiq, struck the winning boundary to finish on 34 runs off 19 deliveries. Their clinical 93-run partnership, coming off just 49 balls, allowed United to reach the target with 58 balls to spare. This dominant victory takes them to second place in the points table.
