Karachi Kings' misery has finally come to an end. The gulf in this game was colossal and this will give Zalmi massive confidence going deeper into the tournament. After that 191-run stand between Mendis and Babar, KK were left stunned and a target of 247 was never going to be easy. It was a chaotic attempt at the chase, and KK never really found any sort of fluency in their batting, crumbling under scoreboard pressure. More notably, Zalmi's bowling resources - especially the Bangladesh contingent - were simply too good on the day, with Nahid making the headlines with a breathtaking spell, returning figures of 3 for 7. Karachi Kings have been rocked at home, capitulating for a meagre 87 with no one really stepping up. A poor powerplay pegged them back and they were never able to pose any real threat.
Kusal Mendis, Player of the Match: We batted well in powerplay and we enjoyed batting on this wicket. Ball was coming nicely with a little bit of bounce and I enjoyed the bounce and was happy to play fast bowlers. We had a plan after the powerplay and we had a target of above 200 in mind and wanted to hit at-least two boundaries every over
