India take on Brazil in a friendly at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, and you can follow it live on ESPN here.

It might be a 'meaningless' friendly, but it doesn't really get bigger than this for India, who are facing football's elite for the first time in decades. As for Brazil, they are ranked sixth in the world and are facing a team ranked 138th, so there's really not much of a contest here for the likes of Vinicius Jr. and co.

Yet, given the attention around this game, there's a different sort of pressure on India - a desire to show they can compete with the best.

Coach Khalid Jamil agreed as much in his pre-match press conference, saying "[The] pressure is there. I am not lying. [The] pressure is there - but we must take pressure.

"According to me, you must do simple things - not do [anything] extra. We already told the players, 'we are playing against a good team.' Any mistake will cost us very badly. So, we have to give our best and be cautious. The result - is not in our hands. If you give your best, anything can happen."

Jamil also brushed aside notions that India will only be defensive against the might of Brazil, saying "If it is required to be defensive, we have to be defensive. If we have to attack, we will attack according to the situation."

Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, noted that football can still be loved in cricket-crazy India, saying "Cricket is part of their culture, football is not the most important game. But that doesn't mean they don't love football. We are happy to be here and show our quality to all who have the possibility to watch the game and it will be a fantastic night.

"I hope it will be an entertaining game. We're happy to be here and to show our quality."
