Shreyas Iyer's maiden ton hands India crushing win

Shreyas Iyer hammered a 42-ball century to help India over the line BCCI

India 172 for 2 (Iyer 102*, Kishan 37*) beat West Indies 171 (Rutherford 56, Dhir 3-31, Axar 2-26) by eight wickets

India's three spinners took eight wickets between them to help the hosts take their winning streak in T20Is to 10. Axar Patel started India's domination with a double-wicket maiden to end the powerplay, Kuldeep Yadav came back from an expensive over to take two wickets, but the jack in the box was T20I debutant Naman Dhir, who bounced back from being hit for a six with an immediate wicket three times on his way to figures of 4-0-31-3.

With half-centuries from Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford, West Indies managed to get to 171, which might have tested India had the visitors been able to capitalise on the rare early dismissals of both the India openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson. However, they ran out of bowling that could exploit the grip in the surface, and Shreyas Iyer blitzed his way to a maiden T20I hundred to end the chase in 14.4 overs.
