NC State fired coach Dave Doeren in the wake of a loss at Stanford on Friday that dropped the Wolfpack to 3-4 and 1-3 in the ACC, the school announced. Doeren went 98-74 over 14 years at NC State. Todd Goebbel will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. He's been on staff since 2019. This is the second power conference job to open in this cycle, joining Maryland.

NC State has announced that Wolfpack head football coach Dave Doeren has been relieved of his duties “effective immediately.” RB coach/ ST coordinator Todd Goebbel will serve as interim for the rest of the season. A national search “will begin immediately,” according to a statement from the school.

Mississippi State QB Kamario Taylor ruled out for the rest of the game against Oklahoma. He looked hobbled when he played. He went to the injury tent after being tackled on the sideline and then the locker room before the school ruled him out for the game. Taylor is still dealing with turf toe, as he last played against Alabama on Oct. 3 and was limited in that game.
