With the hard-court season well upon us, players around the world are getting ready to play in the Cincinnati Open which is widely considered the warm-up tournament ahead of the fourth and final grand slam of the year, the US Open.
Brit No. 1 Arthur Fery was defeated on his first return to court since his fairytale Wimbledon run, while Emma Raducanu has withdrawn as she recovers from injury.
Jannik Sinner has also pulled out at the last minute with a knee injury, but the world No. 1 is set to be fit for the US Open in August.
Another notable name to be missing the event is reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz, who has not played since April as he recovers from a wrist injury.
Top seeds in the women's draw are Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, while in the men's draw expect to see Novak Djokovic and top seed Alexander Zverev.

Brit watch:
Fery had direct entry into the men's singles draw, not long after his incredible semifinal run at Wimbledon in July as a wildcard, but was beaten by Alex de Minaur upon his return to court.
His compatriot Cameron Norrie was beaten 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 by Alexander Zverev.
Jack Draper was awarded a wildcard for the event, but he was beaten in the first round by Martin Landaluce as he continues his challenging comeback from injury.
Raducanu pulled out of the US Open and has done the same for the Cincinnati Open after suffering with a stress fracture in her leg.
British No. 1 Katie Boulter was defeated in the second round by Linda Noskova.
Sonay Kartal suffered a first-round defeat to Caroline Garcia.
