Manchester United step up their preseason with a date against two-time defending European champions Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.

United have been steady, if not spectacular, in preseason with Bryan Mbuemo finding goals in the #9 role, Mason Mount and new signing Andrey Santos forming a promising partnership in central midfield and plenty of academy youngsters getting a chance to impress Michael Carrick.

With more World Cup stars returning, Carrick will be keen to get the team more aligned to the outfit which would take to the field against Hull City on Aug. 22. United do have two more friendlies to go, though: vs Leeds on August 12 and AC Milan on August 15.

PSG started their preseason just this past week with an underwhelming 3-0 defeat to Mallorca (who were relegated to the Segunda division from LaLiga last season) but it was a largely academy-based team.

They will welcome back more of their stars ahead of their clash with Manchester United. It's an important friendly for the Parisians, because right after that, they will go into competitive action vs Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup (on August 12.)

Team News:

PSG

Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, João Neves and Vitinha are training again and will likely be available to face United, while Achraf Hakimi could still miss out. France's superstar attacking trio of Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé haven't been rushed back to training so they took could possibly miss the flight to Gothenburg.

Only one new player has arrived at PSG this summer -- 18-year-old Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni (AC Milan) -- but eight players have departed (most notably Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan and South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in to Atletico de Madrid).

Man United

United fans could get their first glimpse of Youri Tielemans for their side, while there may also be minutes for World Cup returnees Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, Matheus Cunha, and Senne Lammens.

England stars Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford, as well as Argentina star Lisandro Martínez will be the last to return given their extended stay at the World Cup.

Benjamin Sesko and summer signing Karl Darlow are still working to regain full fitness.
