Liverpool and Como will face off in two matches back-to-back, the first played behind closed doors before another in front of fans at Anfield 6 p.m..

Andoni Iraola has overseen four entertaining friendlies so far. A 4-2 win over Sunderland was followed by a 1-0 win versus Wrexham and then a 2-4 loss to Leeds United and a 2-3 defeat to Monaco -- the latter two coming after Liverpool had taken 2-0 leads early on. While those were still very much in the experimenting stage of pre-season, Iraola will want to see a tighter display against Como, with the start of the season looming.

Of course, the big news around Liverpool right now is an off-field piece of business, as Liverpool owner Fenway Sports Group confirmed the sale of a minority stake in the club to a consortium that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Cesc Fabregas' Como, meanwhile, have played just two matches so far: a 2-2 draw with Paris FC and a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates (they lost that on penalties, if you're keeping count). This is their first ever meeting with Liverpool, and Fabregas will want to show that the team making their Champions League debut in the coming season is the real deal.

These will be the last friendlies played by either club before the real business starts the following weekend.

Team News:

Liverpool

Injury troubles have continued through the summer for Liverpool, with Joe Gomez (muscle), Giovanni Leoni (ACL), Jayden Danns (thigh), Hugo Ekitike (Achilles) and Conor Bradley (knee) all still unavailable for Iraola.

There was a boost, though, with Jérémy Jacquet taking part in training with the club for the first time since the start of the pre-season on Wednesday, and Curtis Jones joining him after a brief spell on the sidelines.

Also available in training was Alexis Mac Allister, who arrived on Monday after his World Cup exploits, and new signing Ronald Araújo who is widely expected to start at right centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk at the start of the season.

Como

Argentine star Nico Paz didn't feature much for his national team at the World Cup, but was still given his full amount of leave following the tournament in North America. He was at the Emirates but not in the matchday squad against Arsenal and it remains to be seen if he'll feature at Anfield.

Como have no injury worries.
