While there is still so much to be determined on the recruiting trail for the 2018 class, there are several programs already off to a strong start. Most of them, not surprisingly, are household names, including four that currently have 2017 classes ranked among the top 10. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint, but with the release of the initial ESPN Junior 300, here are five classes that have raced ahead of the competition in the Class of 2018:
Florida State: With two No. 1 classes since 2011, it should come as no surprise that the Seminoles are off to a good start. Their class includes several ESPN Junior 300 offensive playmakers, led by the speedy and fluid No. 1 athlete Justin Watkins and running back James Cook, the brother of current FSU RB Dalvin Cook. Defensively, defensive tackle Robert Cooper has a powerful, wide body and can develop into an excellent interior run-stuffer.
