Lou Gehrig declares himself the luckiest man on the face of the earth in his farewell address.
His words not only reverberated over the loudspeakers that day, as more than 70 years later they still echo. "Today (dayyy, dayyy, dayyy) ... I consider myself (self, self, self) ..." The question is which is more memorable: Gehrig's actual speech or Gary Cooper's re-enactment of the speech in "The Pride of the Yankees"?
