The stage is set for India's campaign at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan's Aichi-Nagoya. The Games will be held from September 19 to October 4, with Nagoya City's Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium hosting the opening and closing ceremonies. A total of 469 medals will be on offer in 43 sports with events happening across 54 venues.
The 501-member Indian contingent is aiming to build on its best-ever Asian Games performance at Hangzhou in 2023, where the country won 106 medals, including 28 gold, to finish fourth in the standings.

SHOOTING - 1 x BRONZE
Anantjeet Naruka - Parinaaz Dhaliwal win BRONZE
In the mixed team skeet, India's Anantjeet Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal beat out Qatar to bronze, with China and South Korea taking gold and silver.
ROWING - 1 x BRONZE
Satnam Singh and Salman Khan win BRONZE
The men's doubles sculls pair were in second place at the 500m, 1000m and 1500m mark, but fell away at the end to take the bronze medal, 3.48 seconds behind the winners.
WUSHU - 1 x SILVER
Naorem Roshibina Devi wins SILVER
Roshibina Devi made it consecutive silver medals at the Asian Games, as she lost her women's sanda 60kg final to Zhang Xiaoyu of China. The Manipur athlete also won silver at the 2022 Hangzhou Asiad.
ATHLETICS - 1 x BRONZE 1 x SILVER
Seema clinches bronze in women's 10,000m
Seema finished her 10,000m race in 32:50.05 to win a superb bronze medal. Bahrain's Winfred Yavi took the gold medal in 32:39.18 and Japan's Nozomi Tanaka won the silver in 32:41.54.
India win silver in mixed 4x400m
Outstanding running from Vishal TK, Poovamma, Manu and Vithya Ramraj as they finished the race in 3:14.46 to win the silver. Bahrain won the gold with games record timing of 3:12.87 and Vietnam took home the bronze in 3:14.54.

WEIGHTLIFTING - 1 x SILVER
Mirabai Chanu wins SILVER
With a combined lift of 198kg (87kg in snatch, 111kg in clean & jerk), Mirabai Chanu has claimed her first Asian Games medal, only behind three-time gold medalist Ri Song Gum of North Korea, who broke the world record with a lift of 215kg.
BADMINTON - 1 x BRONZE
India's men team wins BRONZE
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were the lone winners as Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty and the pair of Arjun-Hariharan lost as China beat India 3-1 in the men's team semifinal.
SOFT TENNIS - 1 x BRONZE
Jay Meena wins BRONZE
Jay Meena lost out vs Takuya Kurosaka in the men's soft tennis individual semifinal.
SHOOTING - 2 x BRONZE
Indian women's skeet team wins BRONZE
The Indian women's skeet team of Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal, and Maheshwari Chauhan win BRONZE in the women's skeet event, with a total of 331. India finished behind China, who took gold with 346, with Kazakhstan in second.
Indian men's skeet team wins BRONZE
Soon after, the Indian men's skeet of Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmed Khan and Bhavtegh Singh win BRONZE in the men's skeet event, with a total of 346. India finished behind Qatar, who took gold with 353, with Kuwait in second with 348.

India women's team win GOLD
The Indian women's team have beaten Sri Lanka by 148 runs to win the nation's first gold of the 2026 Asiad. Smriti Mandana starred with a 45-ball 79 as India posted a mammoth 216/3 in 20 overs. Deepti Sharma's three-wicket haul saw Sri Lanka get bundled out for 69 in 15.4 overs.

Himanshu Dhillon wins SILVER in men's individual 10m air rifle
Himanshu had a late surge to overtake Rudrankksh, but it was too little too late to trouble defending champion Sheng Lihao retaining his gold. Silver for Himanshu, 231.0
Rudrankksh Patil wins BRONZE in men's individual 10m air rifle
Rudrankksh, who was leading in the early stages of the final, faded at the end to win bronze with a score of 230.9
Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane - SILVER in men's 10m air rifle team
India finish behind China, with Rudrankksh leading the way, qualifying to the final in third. Himanshu finished seventh (also in the individual final), and Parth finished 11th and missed out on the individual final.
MMA - 1 x BRONZE
Suchika Tariyal - BRONZE in traditional 60kg MMA event.
The 36-year-old lost to Singapore's Hui Hoon Teo in the semifinals after a closely-fought affair.

After leading till the third last shot of the 10m air rifle individual final, Elanevil Valarivan was beaten to gold at the end by Japan's Hinata Taichi Games Record effort. Elavenil finished on 252.4, Hinata hit 253.0

India began their shooting campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on a high, winning a silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle team event. Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod combined for a total of 1898.0 points to finish second behind China, who topped the standings with a world-record score of 1904.2.
