MESA, Ariz. -- The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a minor league contract with former Kansas City Royals reliever Aaron Crow.

The 29-year-old right-hander made the AL All-Star team as a rookie with the Royals in 2011 and is working his way back from Tommy John surgery.

Crow last pitched in the majors for Kansas City in 2014. He got traded to Miami after that season and became a free agent in December when the Marlins did not offer a 2016 contract.

Crow made 254 relief appearances over four seasons with the Royals and was 20-11 with a 3.43 ERA.
