Colts 'part ways' with running backs coach David Walker
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Colts have decided to "part ways" with running backs coach David Walker.
Coach Chuck Pagano announced the move Monday. Pagano has called for a consistent power-running game, something that has been a struggle for the Colts. They were No. 22 in the league in yards rushing per game, averaging 3.9 yards per carry in 2014 when Trent Richardson, the No. 3 overall draft pick in 2012, lost his starting job.
Walker had not coached in the NFL until the Colts hired him in 2011. The team also has reportedly blocked other teams from interviewing special assistant Rod Chudzinski, the ex-Browns head coach.
