As the NHL season enters November, two of the preseason Stanley Cup favorites are largely maintaining their positions at the top of the championship odds board.
The reigning champion Carolina Hurricanes are still the favorites to repeat this season and have even shortened from the beginning of the campaign, going from +650 to +600. The reigning Presidents' Trophy winners, the Colorado Avalanche, have maintained their second-place position on the odds board at +750, though they have lengthened from a preseason +700 and now share the spot with the Edmonton Oilers.
Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers, who came into the 2026-27 campaign as Stanley Cup co-favorites with Carolina, have lengthened out to +900 after a decent-but-unspectacular 9-5-2 start. One of the biggest movers of the season has been the New Jersey Devils, who began the season at 30-1, shortened from 25-1 to 14-1 after acquiring superstar goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, and are now at 11-1.
