Rodgers a Doak Walker Award semifinalist

Oregon State freshman running back Jacquizz Rodgers is one of 10 semifinalists for the 2008 Doak Walker Award, which is given annually to the nation's best running back.

Rodgers, the only freshman on the list, leads the Pac-10 and ranks 10th nationally with 121 yards rushing per game. He's already set a new conference rushing record for a freshman with 1,089 yards.

Three finalists will be named Nov. 24 via a vote of the 162 member selection committee. The winner will be announced live on ESPNU College Football Awards show Dec. 11 in Orlando.

The Doak Walker Award presentation banquet will be Feb. 6 in Dallas, and will be hosted by the ESPN College GameDay crew of Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler and Lee Corso.
