Shaquille O’Neal?
Dwight Howard?
One longtime NBA observer says that actually neither can rightfully claim Superman status in the NBA.
LA-based agent Lon Rosen -- with an assist from his son Brian -- just reminded me that one of his clients is the NBA’s original Superman.
That would obviously be Wolves coach Kurt Rambis.
I suppose you could quibble and argue that Rambis was more Clark Kent than Superman in his playing days because of those unmistakably thick black glasses.
But be advised that A) legendary Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn routinely referred to Rambis as “Superman” and B) Rambis was once invited to make an appearance on the old “Lois & Clark” show with Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain but declined when informed that a cape would be involved.
