Rams TE Tyler Higbee suffered a lung contusion against the Saints, Sean McVay said Monday. McVay confirmed that Higbee was checked out at a hospital, but is now day-to-day. "Everything's checked out, he's asymptomatic with that in terms of the nuances of those things," McVay said.

Ram DT Aaron Donald retreated to the locker room in the second quarter against the Saints, but returned after a few series. McVay said after the game that Donald's back "Just tightened up a little bit." Donald finished with one tackle for a loss.

Todd Gurley rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in a 27-9 victory over the Saints. Malcolm Brown rushed for 37 yards on six carries. Sean McVay was asked if Gurley splitting carries with Brown was the new normal. "It's hard to say right now," McVay said. "Through two games, I think they both have done a nice job. As the season continues to progress, I think we'll really find out." When asked what his understanding of his role was, and if this was the new normal, Gurley responded: "Ask Sean. I'm not the head coach. I'm good."
