Titans CB Taylor inactive against Colts as team seeks first victory

INDIANAPOLIS -- Tennessee Titans cornerback Alontae Taylor is inactive for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, with a team source telling ESPN it's a coach's decision and not injury-related.

Taylor played 99.7% of the defensive snaps in the Titans' first five games of the season. He signed a three-year, $58 million contract ($42 million guaranteed) in March and has 19 tackles and one sack.

Tennessee (0-5) revamped its secondary by adding Taylor and signing free agent cornerback Cor'Dale Flott to a three-year, $45 million deal. Fellow veteran free agent addition Josh Williams, who signed a two-year, $8 million contract in March, will start in Taylor's place.

Williams was activated from injured reserve Saturday. Cornerback Isaiah Oliver was given the game day elevation from the practice squad.

Tennessee's secondary has only two interceptions this season and the cornerback group has yet to record a pass breakup. The Titans also will be without starting safety Kevin Winston Jr. due to a quad injury against the Colts.

Titans starting defensive tackle Jordan Elliott is also inactive. Elliott missed Friday's practice due to personal reasons and didn't travel with the team.
