The pageantry that comes with college sports makes it that much more enduring to fans. The sports are great, but it's the environment around them that add a little more flavor and excitement.
In ESPN.com's latest project, we took a look at the ultimate college sports bucket list, and the SEC was well represented. Eight SEC schools made the list. Seven of them dealt with football, while singing "My Old Kentucky Home" inside Kentucky's Rupp Arena took up the eighth spot.
As for the seven football-related bucket list items, you have quite the events to check out. Here's the list:
Rekindling the rolling at Toomer's Corner - Auburn
The "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" -- Florida-Georgia
Saturday night at Tiger Stadium - LSU
Tailgating at The Grove - Ole Miss
Take a ride on the Cockaboose Railroad -- South Carolina
Tailgate with the Vol Navy - Tennessee
Midnight yell practice -- Texas A&M
I've been fortunate enough to experience just about all of these during my 27 years on this planet. I grew up in the Grove and spent each Halloween during my college years hanging out in a sea of orange, blue, black and red near the St. John's River. While I didn't get to see the oaks rolled at Toomer's Corner, I at least got to see them before they were cut down. The good news is that they will be replaced.
The only one on the list that I haven't experienced is taking in the midnight yell at Texas A&M. I've seen the video and heard nothing but wonderful things about it. It's on my list, and I'll eventually make it out there!
What about you guys? What's your SEC bucket list and what are you still looking to experience?
