NY Giants (3-1) at Dallas (3-2)

NY Giants (3-1) at Dallas (3-2), Sunday 1:00 pm EDT

IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Even quarterback Eli Manning admitted to being surprised at how the Dallas Cowboys handled the Philadelphia Eagles last week.

On Sunday, Manning and the New York Giants will visit the Cowboys in a battle of NFC East rivals.

The Giants swept the season series last year, winning at Dallas, 26-10, on October 10 and at home, 28-24, in the regular season finale.

But the Cowboys are coming off a stunning 33-10 victory over Philadelphia, which has won the last four NFC East titles. Bill Parcells called it the best performance by the Cowboys since he took over as coach in 2003.

The score caught the attention of the Giants, who were enjoying their bye.

"I guess I was a little surprised because the Eagles have been the dominant team in this division and around the league," Manning said. "You never know what you're going to get from week to week in this league."

Dallas successfully contained the Eagles' potent trio of Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens and Brian Westbrook. McNabb completed just 13 passes for 131 yards without a touchdown, Owens had five receptions for 50 yards and Westbrook managed just 12 yards on six carries.

The Cowboys sacked McNabb four times and held the Eagles to only 19 rushing yards, marking the fewest Dallas had allowed since yielding 16 to Washington on October 8, 1967.

Now the Cowboys will face the NFL's highest-scoring offense. Led by Manning, running back Tiki Barber, wide receiver Plaxico Burress and tight end Jeremy Shockey, the Giants have scored 136 points.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2004 draft, Manning was just 1-6 as a starter last season, but the win came in the season finale against Dallas. This season, Manning has passed for 985 yards and nine touchdowns with two interceptions.

Barber rushed for 217 yards in the two wins over Dallas last season.

Signed as a free agent in the offseason, Burress has 25 catches for 396 yards and four touchdowns. Shockey has 17 receptions for 251 yards and two scores.

Cornerbacks Terrence Newman and Anthony Henry will match up against Burress and Amani Toomer and strong safety Roy Williams will look to get physical with Shockey.

However, the Giants have allowed 98 points in four games and face a Dallas offense led by veteran quarterback Drew Bledsoe, receivers Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson and tight end Jason Witten.

Bledsoe threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns, Glenn caught seven passes for 118 yards and two scores and Witten added seven catches for 80 yards in the win over Philadelphia.

Bledsoe and Johnson engaged in a heated sideline argument during Sunday's win. Johnson said he did not appreciate Bledsoe's remarks to him after he lost a fumble on a jarring hit by Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard late in the third quarter with the Cowboys holding a 30-3 lead. Afterwards, both dismissed it as "a heat of battle" incident.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin was a wide receivers coach under Parcells from 1988-90 with the Giants. Their last year together was the last time New York won the Super Bowl.

Matchup to watch: Glenn lines up against left cornerback Will Allen.

Series: The Cowboys lead, 50-33-2.

Next week: NY Giants host Denver, October 23 Dallas visits Seattle, October 23.
