LONDON, July 6 - Experienced international defender Radhi Jaidi will become the first Tunisian to play in the premier league after signing a two-year deal with Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old centre back joins from Esperance De Tunis, who won their seventh successive Tunisian championship last month. Jaidi is the only player to have won all four of Africa's annual club competitions -- all with Esperance.

"I've had an excellent career with Esperance and left on a high. But I now feel ready to experience a different challenge," he told Bolton's website.

"The attraction of premiership football is difficult to resist. I'm looking forward to meeting my new team mates, and flying the flag for Tunisian football in what is one of the world's greatest leagues."

Jaidi, with 68 caps for Tunisia, has played at three successive African Nations Cup tournaments and at the last World Cup in 2002. The tall defender, who likes to get forward, was in the Tunisia side that defeated Morocco 2-1 to lift the Nations Cup in February.

Jaidi is Bolton's third pre-season signing following the acquisitions of strikers Les Ferdinand and Michael Bridges.
