Blackout lifted as Saints sell out
NEW ORLEANS -- Several large ticket purchases Thursday morning allowed the Saints to declare a sellout for Sunday's game home game against the Houston Texans, meaning the game will be televised locally.
The Louisiana Superdome holds about 70,000 for football, and while ticket sales met the sellout threshold for TV, there were in fact tickets still for sale of Sunday's game, said Arnold Fielkow, the Saints vice president for administration.
The NFL's blackout rule stipulates that no station broadcasting within 75 miles of the city in question can show the game if it does not sell out 72 hours before kickoff.
The Saints have now sold out 25 consecutive games at the Louisiana Superdome, dating back to the 2000 season.
